Luc Devot was a cook for 7 years, a fisherman for 3 years, musician, animator, educator. He had many lives before becoming a winemaker. He worked his first harvest with Jean-Louis Tribouley, who introduced Luc to natural wines. In the years that followed, many winemakers settled with similar cultivation and vinification methods. Driven by this momentum, and after training with Loïc Roure from Domaine du possible, he became a volunteer at the “La remise” wine fair. Luc’s very first vinification was in 2017 and now he works with 4 hectares of vines.

100%  Kadarka.  organic farming; pre-phylloxera vines (100 years+ old) on Danubian green sand soils; horses used to work vineyards, fermented in open vat then aged in big old oak casks for 12 months; bottled unfined, unfiltered with less then 20 ppm sulfites (very low).

This Balkan gem is a lovely skin-contact Kadarka from Serbia.  The Maurer family, originally from Salzburg, is now one of the only natural winemakers in Serbia and has been the godfather of Serbian natural wine movement.  Maurer family has been vine growing here, on the Hungarian border in the region of Subotica / Szabadka, for 4 generations.  And their Kadarka vineyard, planted in 1880, is the oldest in the world — no small feat, given that most producers have given up on this challenging-to-grow grape (tight clusters = susceptible to rot).

Oszkár’s Kadarka is simple and refreshing, with bright acidity and tart fruit to cut through the fat of aperitvo snacks or fall feasts.  It tastes like a brisk fall day – tart pomegranate and blood orange with cloves, and barely-there tannins. Factor in the extremely low ABV (11.4%) and you’ve got the perfect holiday wine – without the post-party hangover.  Serve slightly chilled.

Fidora Prosecco Brut

The Glera grapes of Civranetta estate are nourished with bands of “Caranto”, the ancient Pleistocene stratification, which is composed of compact clay-loam soils. The peculiar minerality of this soil, located near the Lagoon of Venice, conveys a complex aromatic balance to every single grape, while the proximity to the sea and to its winds gives them a distinctive sapidity, which increases their aromas. The first fermentation takes place after the grapes are pressed. The second fermentation takes place once the wine has been stabilized, using a Charmat method, and lasts at least 8 weeks, in order to obtain a fine perlage.

Chateau L’Escart Cuvée Eden Bordeaux

Chateau L’Escart Cuvée Eden Bordeaux

The Laurent family has been sharing their passion for wine for decades, through the cuvées of Château l’Escart, produced from their one piece of 37ha of vineyards in Saint-Loubès. Gérard and his team know that greatness in wine depends essentially on the greatness of the grapes. This is why they take really good care of the vineyards, in order for the vines to naturally resist parasites with as little treatment as possible. They know how important it is to respect the land that doesn’t belong to them. Thus, each harvest keeps the full expression and richness of the terroir. As they say at Chateau l’Escart: “Making great quality wines and respecting the land that we are borrowing from our children”. It is precisely for this reason, and their strong relationship to their terroir, that they decided to convert the vineyards to biodynamic farming. This philosophy continues in the cellar, where only indigenous yeasts is used in the fermentation.

Made from 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec from hand harvested 35 to 45-year old vines.
